How Newpath Medical and Redirect Health work together.

Newpath Medical is the charitable nonprofit. Redirect Health is the healthcare and administration partner that makes the cost-sharing community work day-to-day.

What each organization does

The roles, in plain terms

Newpath Medical runs the charitable framework: the mission, the Financial Assistance Policy, the Benevolent Fund, and the public-access charitable services (case navigation, financial assistance, medical debt relief, educational resources). Newpath Medical is also the entity that holds the cost-sharing community itself. The membership agreement is with Newpath Medical, and the cost-sharing program operates under Wyoming Statute § 26-1-104, the state's framework for medical cost-sharing organizations.

Redirect Health is the healthcare and administration partner. They handle the plan administration, the provider network (the Multiplan PHCS Practitioner-Only Network plus a process for members to add providers), care delivery through their staffed clinics and 24/7 virtual care, payments to providers, and the day-to-day member experience through their member app.

Why this structure

Each side doing what it does best

The two-organization structure lets each side do what it does best. Newpath Medical focuses on the charitable mission, the financial assistance work, and the public programs. Redirect Health focuses on the operational machinery of running a healthcare plan: the network, the technology, the staff, the administration. Members get the benefit of both: a charitable nonprofit framework and a real, working healthcare operation behind it.

What members experience

From a member's perspective

From a member's perspective, joining means becoming part of the Newpath Medical community. Enrollment is facilitated by Redirect Health, who walks new members through the program guidelines, the contribution amount for their household, and the standard enrollment documents. Care, scheduling, prescriptions, and billing all run through Redirect Health. The Newpath Medical website is the home of the mission, the public charitable services, and the documents that govern the cost-share. Redirect Health is where members go for everything operational.

Common questions

Questions about the partnership

Do I need to be a member to get help with a medical bill?
No. Case navigation is free and open to anyone. Email case@newpathmed.org for help; we route your case to Redirect Health's care advocacy team, who handles the review and negotiation.
Where does care actually happen?
Care happens through Redirect Health: in their staffed clinics, through their 24/7 virtual primary care, or with providers in the Multiplan PHCS network. Members can also add a doctor to the network ahead of a visit.
Who receives my monthly contribution?
Your membership contribution is paid to Newpath Medical under the terms of your membership agreement. Redirect Health is compensated separately for administering the plan.
Who enrolls new members?
Redirect Health facilitates enrollment. Their team walks new members through the program guidelines, the contribution amount for their household, and the standard enrollment documents, and handles enrollment end-to-end on their platform.
