Help when a medical bill is more than you can carry.
For upcoming or approved medical expenses you don't yet have a way to cover. A public application for our Benevolent Fund. Discretionary, need-based assistance with medical expenses, reviewed under our Financial Assistance Policy.
What it covers
The Benevolent Fund provides partial or full assistance for medical expenses for people experiencing financial hardship. Assistance can take several forms: direct payment toward an outstanding bill, reduction of an existing balance, or full payment of a specific medical expense that's already been approved.
Assistance is reviewed case-by-case under our Financial Assistance Policy. Eligibility is based on financial need, using Federal Poverty Guidelines and other hardship criteria. Approval is discretionary; assistance is not an entitlement.
Open to anyone.
You don't have to be a member of the Newpath Medical community. At least 50% of the Benevolent Fund's resources are reserved for individuals who aren't members.
Send us a request by email
Send a request to info@newpathmed.org describing the situation and the medical expense involved. Our team reviews each request under the Financial Assistance Policy and responds with the next steps, including any documentation we need to make a determination.
Please include: who the expense is for, what the expense is for, the provider or clinic, the amount if known, and a short description of the financial situation that brought you to us.
Where the funds come from
Newpath Medical allocates at least 10% of its annual net care surplus to the Benevolent Fund. Of those resources, at least 50% are reserved for individuals who are not members of the cost-sharing community. This allocation extends the platform's charitable benefit beyond our members.
